-

Boasting accommodation of the highest standard, La Cala’s 107-bedroom hotel provides a warm and welcoming setting during your stay, with vibrant, modern amenities located throughout the resort.

Visitors can enjoy the award-winning spa and selection of on-site restaurants and bars, including the recently renovated Clubhouse, the heartbeat of entertainment and excitement at La Cala.

Designed by famous golf course architect Cabell Robinson, all 54-holes at La Cala provide unique challenges combined with truly unforgettable tee-box vistas and greenside panoramas.

Campo America is a marvel of design and vision, with spectacular holes set across the beautiful Andalusian landscape. The course delivers tremendous golfing variety and its early holes are played out over a valley floor, offering an authentic Spanish parkland feel. The layout then climbs to a series of upland holes, presenting natural backdrops of the nearby mountains and ocean scenery.

The supremely picturesque Campo Asia is a garden-style course with trees, shrubs and flowers heightening the natural aesthetics. As the oldest of the three layouts at La Cala, the course works in harmony with the environment to deliver a more established and mature feel. With rolling fairways, dramatic changes in elevation and sensational views of the surrounding countryside, Campo Asia is a relatively forgiving course, offering wide fairways and backstops behind many greens.

Campo Europa is a thrilling course with dramatic changes in elevation and memorable holes to negotiate. It’s a course of distinct and eye-catching sections – the first defined by the River Ojén, with the opening holes played along its side.

The layout then moves to higher ground before travelling back down towards the valley floor, providing distinct views of the iconic natural landmarks located throughout the Mijas area.

La Cala’s recent golf course renovations and upgrades to golf facilities continue to shine a light on the resort’s commitment to sustainability on and off the course.

Previously using bentgrass greens, La Cala transitioned to Bermuda putting surfaces more than two years ago, altering the greens for performance and environmental reasons. This year, greenkeepers have also introduced a new variety of Tahoma 31 Bermuda grass to multiple tee boxes on the Asia course.

Preparing for the cooler Autumn-winter months, this new variety of grass is more resistant to the cold and re-emerges quicker than most traditional Bermuda grass types in the Spring. Adapted to higher traffic levels and more tolerant to the heat, Tahoma 31 grass requires 18% less water than other types, reducing La Cala’s overall water usage throughout the year. It’s another step towards establishing improved sustainability methods at La Cala.

Transitioning from the previous petrolpowered golf buggies, La Cala have also recently introduced their new E-Z-GO Elite Lithium powered golf buggy fleet, upgrading its entire collection to a more sustainable alternative and improving

‘LA CALA LIES WITHIN EASY REACH OF MARBELLA AND MALAGA, BUT ITS SECLUSION MAKES IT FEEL LIKE A WORLD AWAY’

performance for visitors across all three of the resort’s courses.

Leisure for pleasure

Leisure opportunities at La Cala include a Fifa-standard football pitch, fitness centre, gym, tennis, squash and golf academy.

The leading 4-star golf resort in Spain has also installed three state-of-the-art padel courts which are now open and available for use. Providing a competitive and social experience for all visitors, the La Cala Racquet Club will offer all participants the chance to put their skills to the test in a friendly and active environment.

Off-the-course, these renovations have been accompanied by the successful completion of improvements to the iconic La Cala Clubhouse Bar & Restaurant. Complete with a renovated, modern interior dining area, the Bar & Restaurant also offers outdoor patio space that overlooks the outstanding views of the golf course and the distant Mediterranean.

A community resort

La Cala’s thriving real estate portfolio also continues to grow, with its newest projects being Solana Village and Belaria. A friendly atmosphere and energy radiates throughout the community and resort, developing a diverse community of residents who take pride in their hometown. The modern apartments and townhouses seamlessly blend into the area, adding a distinct style and character that shapes many of the golf holes out on the course.

The vibrance and beauty of the Andalusian countryside is reflected in the La Cala way of life. The resort is just 30 minutes from exciting destinations such as Marbella and Malaga, but with its warm and quiet seclusion, it is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. Providing an unforgettable experience like nowhere else, La Cala Resort is truly one of a kind.
