Testing for 2019 Porsche Junior takes place
Talented drivers from 11 Carrera Cup championships vie for one Junior spot
11 budding young racing drivers have taken part in a three-day selection process in the southern French town of Le Castellet in their bid to be crowned official Porsche Junior for the 2019 motor racing season.
Porsche’s decorated Junior programme has produced a number of top racing drivers who are now key members of the current works roster, including 919 e-hybrid Le Mans winners Earl Bamber and Timo Bernhard. The driver selected for the Junior programme for the 2019 season will receive a grant of €225,000 towards participation in the Porsche Supercup, plus a comprehensive training programme from Porsche Motorsport. The 11 candidates were put forward after successful campaigns in their respective Carrera Cups, with Porsche due to announce the winner before the end of the year.
