Test­ing for 2019 Porsche Ju­nior takes place

Tal­ented driv­ers from 11 Car­rera Cup cham­pi­onships vie for one Ju­nior spot

11 bud­ding young rac­ing driv­ers have taken part in a three-day se­lec­tion process in the south­ern French town of Le Castel­let in their bid to be crowned of­fi­cial Porsche Ju­nior for the 2019 mo­tor rac­ing sea­son.

Porsche’s dec­o­rated Ju­nior pro­gramme has pro­duced a num­ber of top rac­ing driv­ers who are now key mem­bers of the cur­rent works ros­ter, in­clud­ing 919 e-hy­brid Le Mans win­ners Earl Bam­ber and Timo Bern­hard. The driver se­lected for the Ju­nior pro­gramme for the 2019 sea­son will re­ceive a grant of €225,000 to­wards par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Porsche Su­per­cup, plus a com­pre­hen­sive train­ing pro­gramme from Porsche Mo­tor­sport. The 11 can­di­dates were put for­ward af­ter suc­cess­ful cam­paigns in their re­spec­tive Car­rera Cups, with Porsche due to an­nounce the win­ner be­fore the end of the year.
