Well the weather has started to turn colder and with the nights drawing in it must mean it’s time for just one thing… winter car plans!
I love using the winter months to get all the long-term jobs on the cars tidied away as there are less days to really enjoy the cars. A lot of research is being done at present.
Back in the real world, since a house move we quickly realised that having five cars and two parking spaces was not conducive to a happy home. We decided to do away with the front garden and replace it with much-needed parking and an in-and-out driveway. It has made such a difference to daily life and means none of the cars end up blocked.
The Turbo hasn’t been very far this month, mainly due to work, but I did take it out for a blast early one morning and it never fails to disappoint. The Öhlins dampers are so good at controlling the mass of the car and the Michelin 4Ss seem to have endless grip. I know a few people running the DSC PASM upgrade, but for me I will take a passive set-up with the height adjustability any day.
The GT3 and I have just got back from Spa. Last track day of the year and it was two days of wet weather. That said it’s an amazing place steeped in history and I still managed plenty of laps. The people are really what make these trips, and travelling with my friends Richard and Julian made it all the more special.
I can’t wait to get next year’s track sessions and road trips booked as and when the dates come out. Circuit Days operate a fantastic event at Spa, so I would highly recommend if you are thinking of going. I used the instructors from RSR, who again I would have no issues recommending.
