Porsche records strong 2020 delivery results
Marginal three per cent decline on 2019 despite COVID implications
Even amidst the pandemic, Porsche has posted admirable delivery results for the 2020 calendar year. The sports car manufacturer headquartered in Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart announced total worldwide deliveries of 272,162 vehicles last year, just three per cent down on 2019’s results. Of those total deliveries, 34,328 were 992-generation 911s from both the Carrera and Turbo range.
Positive results in both China (up three per cent) and the Asia-pacific, Africa and Middle East region (up four per cent) contributed handsomely to Porsche’s overall results, with European and American deliveries down nine and eight per cent respectively.
“The Corona crisis posed a great challenge from spring 2020 onwards. Nevertheless, we were able to keep deliveries comparatively stable for the year as a whole,” says Detlev von Platen, member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG.
