INVESTMENT POTENTIAL & OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE
The 997.2 Coupe exists in sufficient quantities for most buyers to find what they are looking for, even the manual car which accounts perhaps for 30% of the total. With a current baseline of roughly £30,000, it could be argued that ten years after production finished, prices are unlikely to fall much lower, certainly if the 993 experience is to be repeated. While the 997.2 is no 993, it wears better, it is still mechanical yet is a far more practical 911 that most owners will happily use in all weathers. And it does have a distinct, end-of-an-era flavour. For many 911 fans, a six-speed, reasonably specified 997.2 with a decent pedigree may well prove a wonderfully enjoyable, depreciation-free entry to ‘modern classic Porsche’ motoring.
