New Sport Classic nears release
Exciting 992 prototype spotted at the Nürburgring
Total 911’s spies have spotted what looks to be a 992 Sport Classic mule in testing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
As you can see from our exclusive spy shots, the wide-bodied prototype features a front and rear PU which appears to be taken from a 992 Turbo
S. A double-bubble roof and distinctive ducktail, both of which are standout features of the 997-generation Sport Classic, are also evident on the mule. The Turbo’s customary side air intakes are missing on this mule’s body, further hinting at a special model outside of the current line-up.
As previously reported, Total 911 expects a new Sport Classic to be revealed next year as part of the latest work from Porsche Exclusive, the bespoke build division based in the heart of Porscheplatz.
Rumours continue to abound as to possible power configurations of a new Sport Classic, though Total 911 expects this to fall in line with the upcoming 992-generation GTS, in following the trend set by the original of 2011.
