Porsche Motorsport teams up with Penske

Joint effort for return to top-level racing at Le Mans in 2023

-

Porsche Motorsport has announced an exciting new partnership with Team Penske to run factory entries in the FIA WEC and US IMSA championships from 2023.

Under the name of Porsche Penske Motorsport, a joint team of Weissach engineers plus new colleagues from the decorated US outfit will field two new LMDH prototypes to compete for top honours in both competitions from 2023 – this means Porsche will once again be competing for outright victory at Le Mans. Porsche says the contract with Team Penske will run “for a number of years”.

“We are delighted that we were able to get Team Penske to form this partnership,” says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. “For the first time, our company will have a global team competing in the world’s two largest endurance series. To this end, we will be setting up team bases on both sides of the Atlantic. This will enable us to create the optimal structures we will need to take overall victories at Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring, for example.”
