Total 911

What’s that over there?

-

Dear Sir,

As always I was elated when my latest issue of Total 911 arrived, issue #206. I took a light read over the entire magazine that evening, and as I was browsing over the article regarding the “King” of the 2.7 RS, Josh Sadler, my eyes spotted it. Nestled in the barn just to the left of what looks to be a very well-kept (and very expensive!) 1973 Carrera RS was none other than a 996 Carrera!

So I am now wondering if in fact the gentleman known for his exceptional knowledge of perhaps the greatest and often considered ‘Holy Grail’ of Porsche 911s drives a Speed yellow 996 with 18-inch Sport Design rims? If so, what an amazing testament to those of us who drive these great cars, the first of the water-cooled generation, especially with most of us using them as daily drivers too!

Another great-looking issue to digest, but I am especially enamoured to see the Speed yellow 996 on pages 30/31 of issue #206.

Very good spot, Scott! Mr Sadler does indeed have a Speed yellow 996.2 Carrera in his stable, and as you can imagine for the King of the 911 Rennsport, it’s no ordinary one at that. Sadler’s 996 has been upgraded from 3.6 to 3.9 litres as a special project from his time heading up Autofarm, an independent Porsche specialist here in the UK. We’re not sure if the company offers the upgrades anymore, but it certainly fits in with Sadler’s ideals of owning a Porsche that’s a little different to the rest.
