Mazda MX-5 Club of South Australia

Total MX-5 - - NEWS -

Warm greetings. The Mazda MX-5 Club of South Australia has 180 members and is the only such club in our state – a state that’s almost five times the size Britain! Our westerly neighbour, Western Australia, also has the single MX-5 club, but the more heavily populated eastern states of New South Wales and Queensland have several each. The Victoria club combines its activities with the island state of Tasmania.

Every two years one of these states hosts a national event called Natmeet, where keen MX-5 drivers get together for a few days of social and motorsport activities: in 2018 it’s South Australia’s turn and we’ll be hosting the 13th Natmeet in the Barossa Valley just north of Adelaide.

To give you some idea of the sheer scale of Australia, some guests will be driving here from as far away as Brisbane – a 1370mile, 23-hour drive – and Perth – 28 hours and 1685 miles.

Our club in South Australia is very active and on average hosts two social events per month and has a very keen motorsport membership. We have quite a few ‘active seniors’; many of us are now driving cars we love but couldn’t afford when we were younger, or had families who required a back seat. This has made our midweek runs very popular.

We are also blessed with some magnificent country roads through hills and vineyards that are accessible allyear round and are perfect for a spirited drive in an MX-5.
