Mk4 visual upgrades from Japan

Total MX-5 - - NEWS -

Trawling through the internet the other day, as you do, we chanced upon a report from the Tokyo Auto Salon that featured a trio of visually tuned mk4s. We endeavoured to get in touch with all three, but in the end only one responded, Autoexe – sorry Odula and Legsports, you miss out because your websites won’t let us get through to you.

What we like about the Autoexe gear is the subtlety of it: the body kits aren’t ‘shouty’ and look as though they could have been done by Mazda Design for a mk4 mid-life facelift. Even the fixed rear wing is sympathetic to the car’s basic design, blending with the overall aesthetic rather than overwhelming it. As well as the bodykit, Autoexe also supplies alloy wheels, exhausts, suspension parts and some interior titivation, but engine mods seem restricted to a very shiny-looking carbonfibre airbox – there might be more info on the website, but unfortunately our Japanese is a little rusty…

Along with other Japanese tuners’ websites we’ve looked at, Autoexe has a disclaimer about its parts being designed for the Japanese market only, but if you’d like to know more regardless, log on to autoexe.co.jp.
