FROM THIS DAY FORWARD
A new country-house opera opens with Mozart’s classic wedding tale
With herbaceous borders bursting into colour and breathtakingly beautiful views of the Leicestershire countryside, it’s worth visiting Nevill Holt for the grounds alone. In June, the mediaeval stately home opens a brand-new theatre where you can hear Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro before picnicking in walled gardens dotted with sculptures by Antony Gormley, Marc Quinn and Nic Fiddian Green. tf The Nevill Holt Opera runs from 14 to 30 June (www.nevillholtopera.co.uk)
