From vintage classics to new notebooks, the former fashion-buyer Emma Williams transformed her hobby of bookbinding into a successful small business, stocking vintage editions that she has re-covered in charming fabrics. ‘I try to make a cover that reflects the essence of the book inside,’ she says. Sourcing the tomes anywhere from fleamarkets to publishing fairs, Williams then creates her jacket designs in her Buckinghamshire workroom. ‘I love the idea of my creations being kept in families for generations and the cycle of parents reading the same book to their children being repeated down the years,’ she says. ‘By giving an old hardback a bit of TLC, I hope it has a new lease of life.’ mh www.etsy.com/shop/forgetmenotbookshop
