May IWA Towpath Walks Society, London:

All towpath walks up to the end of May have been cancelled.

May 2 Friends of Montgomery Canal:

Montgomery Canal Triathlon. The Friends are looking forward to organising the next Montgomery Canal Triathlon on Saturday, May 8, 2021. All entrants in the 2020 event may receive a refund of their entry fees or, if they wish, they may donate their entry fees to the restoration of the Montgomery Canal. Alternatively, they will be able to defer their entry until the 2021 event.

May 2-3 IWA:

Canalway Cavalcade 2020 has been cancelled. It will return May 1-3, 2021.

May 8-10 Shrewsbury & Newport Canal Trust:

Norbury Canal Festival has been cancelled.

Worcester Birmingham &

St Richard’s Festival, Droitwich. WB&DCS hopes to be able to hold the event in 2021. All its programme has been suspended and Cecilia will not be available for groups to book until further notice.

Droitwich Canals Society: May 16-17 Moira Canal Festival:

The Moira Canal Festival would have celebrated its 20th festival this year, held as usual at the Moira Furnace, North West Leicestershire. It is organised by a sub-committee of the Ashby Canal Trust, which campaigns for and raises money for the maintenance and restoration of the Ashby Canal between Snarestone and Moira. It is now planned to hold the 20th anniversary festival on May 22-23, 2021.

May-June Medway Queen Preservation Society:

The Dunkirk Little Ships will not now sail to Dunkirk in 2020 and the events in Ramsgate 2020 are cancelled. MQPS has reluctantly decided not to take Medway Queen to Ramsgate this year but there is a possibility that the anniversary of Dunkirk will be celebrated there in 2021. The ship will also be closed to visitors until further notice.

Birmingham Canal Navigations Society

has postponed the Explorer Cruises due to take place in May and June and hopes to reschedule them in September or October.

July 25-26 Gathering of Historic Boats at Audlem:

The event will return in 2021 on July 24-25.

July 31-August 2 Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club:

Gloucester Vintage & Country Extravaganza looks forward to returning on August 6-8, 2021.
