When can we fish again?
THE Angling Trust recently launched its When We Fish Again report – a set of phased proposals aimed at getting anglers back on the bank as quickly and safely as possible.
Chief executive officer Jamie Cook called on anglers to send a short email to their own MP asking them to back the plans to ensure fishing is at the front of the queue when the Government eases restrictions on the current coronavirus lockdown.
He said: “We’ve made sure every MP in the country has received a copy of the report and our next job is get them to persuade ministers to adopt our plans to get us back fishing.
“Our proposals outline the physical and mental well-being that angling can provide and we’ve demonstrated how we believe angling can resume safely in a considered and phased manner, while adhering to any social distancing and hygiene regulations.”
They were targeted at the review of the lockdown restrictions announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on May 10.
