Training provider becomes a limited company

-

BIRMINGHAM & Midland Marine Services has come a long way since its inception as an RYA Training Centre and small commercial operations concern in 2013.

From September 2020 the company became ‘Limited’ and now operates two training centres: one canalside on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal and the second, a recent addition, at a 4000-acre private country estate with a 60-acre lake.

Registered as both a training company and commercial operator, Birmingham & Midland Marine runs a wide range of commercial and leisure training courses ranging from commercial workboat skipper and powerboat coxswain training via the Royal Yachting Association and the Maritime & CoastGuard Agency, plus occupational water safety and rescue training which can either be HSE endorsed or Defra (Mod 1-3 plus ‘Appendix H’) and CDM Regulations 2015 compliant.

These courses are available via the Royal Life Saving Society or Outreach

Rescue. Also available is a new Inland Waters Rescue Boat Operator course which is designed for safety and rescue teams working on canals, rivers, reservoirs and lakes; areas without coastal or tidal reaches and covers the non-coastal elements of the Defra Module 4 Emergency Services Rescue Boat Operator course.
