HMS and Refleks, sailing proudly on after 46 years

-

HARTLEPOOL Marine Supplies (HMS) has been linked with respected Danish firm Refleks for more than 46 years, a connection that reaches back to 1975 when HMS fitted its first Refleks diesel heater to one of its family-owned commercial North Sea trawlers.

These highly respected heaters have, since 1956, proved themselves a worldwide success in boat heating. They are highly reliable, silent, do not require any external power and need only very little maintenance.

Refleks Olieovne A/S was founded just a decade after the war and has been producing diesel stoves ever since. This has given the company a wealth of experience in the manufacture and supply of these diesel-powered stoves across the world, with more than 75% of production exported.

The total produced to date is well over 100,000 and they have been fitted in thousands of sea-going fishing boats, many types of leisure boats, barges, tugs, as well as canal boats and even land cabins and houses.

Imagine, after several hours on the deck in the freezing North Sea in winter, the warmth and comfort of a Refleks heated accommodation.

As the importer, HMS supplies all across the UK, but has also sent these heaters to several continents. The company has supplied some to Antarctic expeditions as well as customers in the US and New Zealand – so you can see that they are used anywhere on the planet.

These stoves are well tested and are recommended by the Danish Maritime Authority. The current manufactured range ( for heated volumes from small up to 100 cubic metres) varies from very small to the largest of boats, cabins and cottages etc.

Another advantage of Refleks is that they are easy to install and many customers do it themselves.

The stoves are supplied with a two-year manufacturer warranty, but experience has shown that they can be in regular use for more than 15 years.
