Breach leaves boats stranded

-

BOATS on the Royal Canal were left high and dry recently following a breach which occurred in the vicinity of Richmond Harbour.

What has been reported as ‘a significant reduction in water levels’ in Marine notice 76 of 2021 happened on the pound between Locks 45 and 46.

Repair works, which began on October 18, are ongoing. In the meantime there is no access to Richmond Harbour from Camlin River, which links to the River Shannon, or from the eastern side through Lock 45.

Updates will be posted as works progress.
