IWA Chester & Merseyside Branch: Circular walk, 4.5 miles starting at Caldy village near northern end of east Wirral coast along bridlepath­s and across National Trust heathland climbing up to the old Mariner’s Beacon then along the Wirral Way to West Kirby around the Marine Lake before returning along the beach. Avoid wearing shorts because of prickly gorse; you need to be fit and active for this walk. Meet at 10.15 for 10.30am start, finishing at parking place about 1.30pm. Anyone wishing to take part should email derek.smith@waterways.org.uk by the Saturday evening before the walk.
