-

IWA Chiltern presents a series of illustrated talks on interesting canal and river related topics, monthly from September through to April.

The branch has recently moved its meetings to the new Education Centre at Batchworth Lock and warmly welcomes local people to come and join members for a social evening with a guest speaker.

Tea, coffee, refreshments and a warm welcome are included. Admission only £5, IWA members £3.

The next meeting takes place on Wednesday, February 23 when the guest speaker will be Di Murrell – ‘A Foodie Afloat’. Starting at 8pm, the meeting takes place at Batchworth Lock, Rickmansworth WD3 1JJ.

Di spent most of her life living, working and travelling on the canals and rivers of the UK and Europe with her husband Tam.

She has always had an interest in food and food history and has honed both writing and cookery skills by visiting markets, farms, vineyards and restaurants and using local products, as she slowly boated across the European landscape.
