Petition launched to save riverside pub

FOLLOWING the sale of popular boaters’ pub the Lazy Otter beside the River Great Ouse at Stretham, near Ely, its former manager Georgina Radford is campaigning to prevent it from being converted into a private home.

She has launched an online petition at Action Storm which had nearly 700 signatures at the time of going to press.

Georgina said: “The Lazy Otter has many happy memories for our family and I am sure we are not the only ones who have taken advantage of this fabulous riverside pub. The pub was a great place for families to gather with a park for the children and gorgeous riverside views.

“I do not want to lose this fabulous asset to our community and invite you to sign this petition.”
