Dandelion Project brings growing and gardens to the canals

-

THE Dandelion Project, a six-month celebration of growing, music and community, is visiting numerous locations around Scotland, including the canals.

Events include free summer festivals and live music (Glasgow June 17-19 and Inverness September 2-4), Free for All giveaway plants, harvest celebrations and Unexpected Gardens including a floating garden which will tour between Glasgow and Edinburgh before mooring at the Kelpies from July.

The garden will feature a floating allotment, complete with polytunnel, raised beds and cube growing, a performance stage and an eco-garden, drawing sustenance from the canal while cleaning the water that is feeding the plants.

Stopping at 10 canalside communities, there will be live music and giveaway grow-yourown starter kits for anything from potatoes to lemon balm.
