Mooring guidance

-

All visitor moorings within Birmingham city centre will change to four days for the period of the games. This will cover the area in between Vincent Street bridge, Farmers Bridge top lock, including Cambrian Wharf, and Granville Street. These will be clearly identified and monitored during the period. This will come into force from Wednesday, July 25 at 8am until 4pm on Tuesday, August 9.

Boating business moorings and their operations will remain unchanged. Visiting boaters will not be allowed to stay within this zone for longer than four days and will be expected to move out. Moving from different spaces within the zone is not permitted and this will be monitored by CRT teams.

Boaters are encouraged to moor two abreast where it is reasonable to do so if the moorings fill up.

The moorings durations outside of this zone will remain unchanged and 180m of new 14-day moorings have been installed just outside of Vincent Street bridge which will be bookable. These will be available between the above dates.

The existing mooring durations near to other key venues in Smethwick, Leamington, Coventry, Perry Barr and Edgbaston will remain unchanged.

To help with demand new moorings have been installed at Leamington,

Perry Barr, Bristol Road and Engine Arm to accommodate visitors. No booking is required.

It is important this is as accessible as possible and CRT will advise which moorings are suitable for disabled boaters. Contact the West Midlands Customer Care Team for further information.

While the presence of additional footfall and boats will increase security, additional patrols may be brought into specific sites if required.
