Busy Crinan

THE Crinan Canal has been busy with around 600 boats having already transited the canal in the first three months of opening since April.

Online and advance booking is available for the Crinan and Caledonian Canals from Scottish Canals’ website.

This coming winter, work will take place to upgrade four lock gates and Cairnbaan Swing Bridge, requiring the stretch of canal between locks 9 and 15 to be drained.

Current plans mean that the canal will be closed to navigation between the end of September 2022 and April 2023.
