THE Forth & Clyde Canal runs east to west across central Scotland, with the eastern point of the canal at Grangemouth now accessed along the newest stretch of canal at the Helix – the Queen Elizabeth II Canal.

This section of the canal was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh five years ago, on July 5, 2017. Two years earlier, HRH Princess Anne opened the Kelpies – the world’s largest equine sculptures – on July 8, 2015. They’ve become one of Scotland’s most popular tourist attractions, for locals and visitors alike.
