A snapshot of local wildlife
THE New Cut Heritage and Ecology Group has resumed its annual Bioblitz but with a new format.
It is now spread over several days so that the individual surveys are less constricted.
Two events were held in July and a bat walk and evening survey is planned on Saturday, August 27 from 8-10.30pm. Visiting experts will include Harold (‘Batman’) Green and Michael Smith from Billinge Bat Rescue.
The Bioblitz is a snapshot of the variety of life found in the area.
On the days of the events, wildlife experts and members of the public work together to find, identify and record the local biodiversity including plants, animals, birds and insects.
