Lift work starts

THE Anderton Boat Lift should reopen to boats inspringaftera£450,000 repair package this winter. The Canal & River Trust aims to completework by the end of March 2023. The lift between the Trent & Mersey Canal and River Weaver has been out of action since August when the safety mechanism in one of the gates failed.
