Trail Running (UK) - - TRAINING Q&A - Darren Jacobs, via email

AGenerally, the more time on your feet or more miles you do, the more you will lose – although there is a ‘fatburning zone’, in which you will lose weight more efficiently. But it’s not just about running.

“This is a question of nutrition. It’s about how you fuel your runs and how healthy and balanced your diet is,” says Robbie Britton. “Consistent, varied training, alongside a healthy and balanced diet, will bring the changes you want. But, lighter does not always mean faster and it is important to look at other measures of health, such as bone health and hormonal changes, that can occur through too much weight loss. It’s best to talk to a registered sports dietician for advice and be patient.”
