Trail Running (UK) - - Lightweight Shoe Test -

250g (UK 6)

The wide toe box helps to make these very comfortable straight out of the box. The heel and ankle feel less secure than the others in this test, so much so that you expect the shoe could slip off in deep bog. The manufacturer has significantly ramped up the grip, and the deep square lugs dig in nicely on muddy trails and grip on rocks. Although the drop is low at 4mm, the cushioning is plentiful, so you don't ever feel like you are too low to the ground; indeed, it feels like you are balancing on a foam pad. After a few long runs this does indent to the shape of your foot nicely, but it is less precise on uneven surfaces.
