The best photos from the 2018 UTMB – the world summit of trail running
Not for nothing is the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc known as the world’s greatest trail festival. Its blue riband race covers 170km of the finest scenery and most testing terrain the European Alps have to offer. The 2018 race, held in September, was completed by more than 1700 hardy souls despite misfortunes befalling many of the favourites; including former winner Kilian Jornet, who dropped out after being stung by a bee before the start.
