NN874662 Take the lane west, keeping ahead in a smaller lane. Pass to the right behind the ruined church and along a yew avenue to the corner of a tarmac track. Turn up right, across a junction, and on up into plantations. Keep right at a T-junction, when the track levels. In another 1.75km fork right, down past the rifle range, to Gilberts Bridge over River Tilt.

NN880700 Don't cross, but take a deer fence gate ahead for a rougher track. After leaving plantations, it shrinks to a path to a stone bridge over Allt Mhairc. Then it's a faint, green path above River Tilt. After Marble Lodge join the track arriving over a bridge. Follow it upstream past Forest Lodge. In just over 2km, you're opposite the foot of a ridge on the other side. NN948755 Ford River Tilt – or there’s a bridge 1km upstream. Follow the grassy crest of the ridge south-west to Carn Torcaidh. After a slight dip, head south up slopes of cowberry and moss, to Braigh Coire Chruinnbhalgain.

NN945723 Follow the pathed ridge down east to a shoulder. This leads up onto a level ridgeline running north-east. After 300m, as the ridge dips, turn down right, east, to find a clear path restarting. Follow it down into a deep col (Bealach an Fhiodha), and slant left (east) up the opposite slope. The path reaches a level ridgeline. Here it bears left (north-east) for the gentler rise to Carn nan Gabhar summit.

NN971733 Return to the levelling of the ridge (from here a sheltered descent is to return west to the deep col, and take a peaty path down left). Continue south-west, rising to Airgiod Bheinn. The ridgeline turns south over this minor top, then descends south-west again. Where the descent gets uncomfortably steep, bear down right, west, with traces of path, to join a clearer path alongside the stream below.

NN952712 Turn down left on this rough and in places soggy path. It follows the stream down for 500m, then slants out to the right to work around the flank of Beinn Bheag. Once on the south-facing slope, the path slants down south-west across another stream, eventually to join a grassy track. Follow this to the south, where’ll you’ll soon join a firmer one. After 4.8km the track reaches a junction beside a plantation. Turn left to a car park alongside Loch Moraig.

NN905670 Follow the tarmac lane down west to a junction just above Old Bridge of Tilt. Turn down right to cross the bridge to the car park.
