IT'S GOOD
These are a very stretchy trouser that’s closer fitting than others. Ideal for scrambling and more active users on challenging mountain terrain. The environmentally responsible Bluesign-approved material has a Cold Black treatment that is said to reflect 80 per cent of sunlight to prevent overheating. Panels of stretchy reinforcement are placed at the seat, knees, ankle cuffs and along the inner leg and groin areas. The waist is lined and there is a belt provided. There are three zipped front pockets. These trousers are cool and flexible and great for milder conditions, but you could wear leggings under them, as well as waterproof overtrousers in winter.
HOWEVER
These are less water- and wind-resistant than other trousers, and not as warm, so you will need other layers in wet or cold conditions. There’s less adjustment at the ankle and calf area too, but the fit is neater and closer, so this is less of an issue perhaps, assuming you like the closer rather than the more relaxed fit. These are probably going to be less durable than some trousers and it’s annoying for backpacking that the thigh pocket is a little short for an OS map to completely fit inside. The price is not great either.
VERDICT
Stretchy, closer fitting trouser that’s ideal in milder conditions, but others have more weather resistance.
