1 NN981957
Starting from Corrour Bothy, head across the Lairig Ghru via the metal bridge, heading for the south slopes of Ben Macdui. The best place to start ascending this mountain is from the bottom of Coire Clach nan Taillear, then wind up the scree slopes to the summit.

From Ben Macdui there is a marked path heading north. Follow this for 2km until the track splits, following the track going north-east. Continue past Cairn Lochan and to the cairn at Stob Coire an t-Sneachda.

Continue past Fiacaill cliffs and descend slightly to a wide ridge leading to Cairn Gorm. The route then starts climbing upwards again, and then up the western side of Cairn Gorm itself, with the relay station now coming into view. Head beyond this to the summit of Cairn Gorm.

Beyond the summit of Cairn Gorm, the route is quite a steep descent and great care should be taken in snowy and icy winter conditions. The trail now leads to the top of ski runs at CairnGorm Mountain Ski Centre.

From the Ptarmigan (railway) Station, the route leads around to the right, but it can be hard to spot – even in good conditions. Stay to the right of the railway line and ski tow, dropping down Sron an Aonaich, also known as ‘Windy Ridge’. Follow this down between the two ski runs, all the way to the Ski Centre base station.
6 NH989059
The track follows part of the road, before it drops down the side of the road at the first corner. Follow it until it meets the road again, crossing over to the Sugar Bowl car park.
