“Nestled in the charming mountain village of Braemar is The Bothy café. Their full English breakfast (or a lighter version – pictured – if you’re being ‘good’) tastes even better outside on the large, dog-friendly decking with a view of the picturesque Clunie Water. The café is perched on the rocky riverside, and serves proper coffee, with excellent breakfasts until noon, lunches after that and yummy home-made cakes all day long. If the weather is typically Scottish, there’s a viewing window with an equally gorgeous view. Located near to the Balmoral Estate it’s the perfect start point for the southern Cairngorms.”
