TRADITIONAL PIZZA

As served at… The Woolpack Inn, Eskdale

Trail (UK) - - BASE CAMP -

A remote corner of Lakeland is not a place you’d expect to find authentic thin and crispy pizzas. But at the Hardknott Bar & Kitchen in the Woolpack Inn, that’s exactly what’s on the menu. Between noon and 10pm their wood-burning pizza oven is fired up to produce mouth-watering dough-based meals with a distinctly

Italian twist. The classics are all there: Margherita, pepperoni, quattro formaggi (four cheese), and Hawaiian (there’s NOTHING wrong with pineapple on a pizza). Plus, you might find some offerings on the specials menu too, such as the Cumbria-meets-Campania fusion, mutton pizza, which is much nicer than it might sound. Aye, buonissimo!
