THE BBQ BOTHY

On our second night on Rum, Trail stayed at the BBQ Bothy near Kinloch. This octagonal wooden hut is situated on the edge of the campsite overlooking the loch near the old pier. It features a chimneyed BBQ for a warm (and midge-free) evening whatever the weather, and sleeping platforms with luxurious reindeer hides for comfort. It costs £50 per night for as many people as you can fit inside – the cabin sleeps four and can seat 20.
