“My hillwalking bestie has to be my hubby, Matt. He has given me the much-needed support and confidence to tackle my fear of heights and my vertigo head-on. He took me up Tryfan and that was the day I found my confidence and a love for the mountains. Last year I took on a challenge to raise funds for canine cancer research, putting myself through pure hell by walking over two ridges. I completed Striding and Swirral Edge on Helvellyn, and he helped me get down ‘the chimney’. But this wasn’t enough for him, as he also helped several others down that day too! I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without him.”
