Nordisk Telemark 1 ULW £600
If weight is your number one priority and you’re willing to compromise on liveable space, then the phenomenally lightweight Telemark 1 ULW is the tent for you. Carbon poles, ultralight fabrics and a clever design save vital grams, but despite the low weight the Telemark is still sturdy, comfortable and weatherproof.
It is pitched outer first or allas-one, with a single, hooped, central pole creating a tunnel shape, while two integrated struts at each end increase volume slightly. The corner struts can be easily adjusted, which helps create a welltensioned structure, and there is a good sized, full-length vestibule behind the twin-zipped side door.
The 2000mm-rated flysheet and 8000mm-rated groundsheet feel tougher than expected. Other positive features include magnetic, quick-snap door closure, adjustable guy ropes with aluminium o-rings, mesh for breathability, and inner pockets for organising your gear.
All of this packs down into an ultra-compact sack, ensuring the Telemark 1 ULW ticks every box for ultralight enthusiasts.
IF WE’RE BEING FUSSY Condensation can be a problem, and if you’re not careful the ultralight outer will sag in the wind or rain and press against the inner causing water ingress. There isn’t much headroom and significant tapering at both ends makes the tent feel slightly cramped.

Verdict
An amazingly lightweight, premium-end, two-skin tent – but the price will put off many.
