Revolution Race GPX Pro £95

-

+ Comfortable, durable, great features - Single leg length only, tapered fit not for everyone, slightly heavy Revolution Race is a relatively new brand, started in 2014 by two adventurous Swedes who were fed up with overpriced, poorly fitting outdoor gear. We’re pleased they decided to do something about it, because their GPX Pro trousers are superb. They’re made from burly polycotton, which can be waxed for added weatherresistance, while stretch nylon soft shell panels give excellent freedom of movement. Main seams are double-or triple-stitched for strength. Admittedly, those thicker fabrics add weight and might get a bit warm in high summer, but generous mesh-lined vents extend from the knee to the upper thigh, to help you dump heat. They’re not short on other features either, with two roomy zipped thigh pockets, a zipped back pocket and two hand pockets. The waist is semi-elasticated, with a button closure, a zip fly and belt loops. There are reinforced panels at the knees, which can accommodate knee pads. There’s also a scuff patch at the instep and press studs at the hems for a closer fit. These are all features you’ll usually only find on premium outdoor trousers at double this price. Just be aware that the overall cut is slim and tapers markedly at the lower legs. They’re only available in one leg length too. The fit worked for us, but it might not suit everyone.
