K2
8611m
K2 is in the Himalaya located on the Pakistan / China border.
K stands for the mountain range Karakoram.
Only 377 people have summited K2 – that’s fewer people than have travelled into space!
The East Face of the mountain remains unclimbed due to unstable snow and ice formations.
There is just 1/3 of sea-level oxygen at the summit of K2.
Several routes up K2 have been climbed. By far the most used is the Abruzzi Spur – which was the route taken by Nimsdai and his team this winter.
