Starry saxifrage holds the high altitude record for UK plants, being recorded just 4m below the summit of Ben Nevis at 1340m. This pretty flower grows from a rosette of leaves, often forming in tussocks. It has five white petals, each marked with two pink or yellow spots, ten pinktipped anthers, and looks far more delicate than it is.
