Jetboil MiniMo

£160

-

For all-round versatility, we reckon the MiniMo is the best model in the Jetboil line-up.

The cooking pot is short and squat compared to most all-in-one systems, but that means it sits lower to the ground so is more stable. The pot’s wider base also makes it easier to cook pasta and other foods without them sticking. Similarly, the burner has improved simmer control to enable more precise heat adjustment. And though it isn’t the most powerful stove on paper, the design is so efficient that the MiniMo boils water very quickly.

It has a built-in regulator for consistent performance in challenging conditions, and you get a Piezo ignition too. Other features we liked were the pot’s sturdy plastic-coated handles, the reassuringly solid burnerto-pot connection and how everything packs away neatly.

You can fit a 100g gas canister inside the pot along with the burner. The MiniMo also comes with a gas canister stand, a lid with pouring spout and strainer holes, a cloth storage bag for the burner, a metal pot support and a bottom

cover that doubles up as a measuring cup or bowl.

As all-in-one systems go, this stove strikes a brilliant balance between weight, fuel efficiency and practicality.

IF WE’RE BEING FUSSY

A strong gust can blow the stove out. We miss the colour-change boil indicator from the Jetboil Flash. And though the lid design and the built-in ignition have both been improved, they’re still not the best. It’s expensive too.

Verdict

A convenient and efficient cooking system. Lightweight for an all-in-one stove, with improved cooking and simmering ability compared to its rivals.
