CWM LLWCH

-

MEDIUM ■ 2½ hours ■ 4.8km ■ 675m ascent

Start Cwm Llwch, grid ref SO006245 (nearest parking SO026248) Terrain Generally a good path for most of the route, crossing grassy hillsides further up

Start along the stream of Nant Cwm Llwch. At the end of a stony road, head south on a wide path into Cwm Llwch. At the boundary of the open access land, the path rises steeply, climbing into a glacial hollow containing Llyn Cwm Llwch. Pass the lake and climb to the edge of the cwm’s western shoulder, reaching it near an obelisk to Tommy Jones, a young boy who died here in 1900. Ascend an edge path to Corn Du, crossing this summit first before pressing on to Pen y Fan.
