This is the busiest, shortest and easiest route to the summit of Pen y Fan, but there is some risk of cornices on the northern edges in winter. Just over 500m south-east of Storey Arms, a path runs past the NT hut before a kissing gate. After the gate, descend to cross the Blaen Taf Fawr stream on a footbridge. Continue on a wide track that ascends to, and crosses, Bwlch Duwynt, just south of Corn Du. The track continues north-east to the summit of Pen y Fan.
