FITNESS Good mountain fitness required to be walking with an overnight bag on varied and steep ground at times. TERRAIN Mixture of high mountain path and plateau, rocky off-path sections, some rocky scrambling towards Foxes Tarn. NAVIGATION Cairned routes on summits but take care to read contours and map features on way to Sca Fell. In poor visibility, a compass bearing will help descending from Sca Fell.
