SCARPA MESCALITO MID GTX £200

I fell in love with these the first time I put them on. They were mega-comfortable straight out of the box, and in use things got even better. They’re super grippy, lightweight and a favourite for scrambling and via ferrata. They’re best kept for warmer, dryer conditions (although they are Gore-Tex lined) and have taken me everywhere from the Italian Dolomites to Kilimanjaro, as well as summer scrambles here in the UK.

VERDICT As a ginger, summer always makes me nervous, but it’s worth risking the sun just so I get to wear these awesome boots in the mountains.
