HOKA SKY KAHA £180

-

My Trail colleagues know their stuff when it comes to mountain gear, and when I rocked up in my bouncy Hoka Kahas they laughed. “They’ve got no place in the British mountains,” they said. The trouble was they were just too damned comfy to leave unloved in the cupboard, and now I’ve worn them in the mountains of the Lakes, Snowdonia and Scotland, on rock, on grass, and mud – and every time they surprise and perform. They may not be as durable as some, but for summer hikes I love ’em!

VERDICT They bounce me across the mountains in supreme comfort and the Vibram Megagrip sole is superb on rock.
