EXTREME WOOLLEN MITTENS £31

These classic mitts are easily the warmest, most reliably waterproof gloves I’ve worn. They’re made of pure wool, boiled until they shrink to a simple, almost felted mitt. As a result, not a sniff of wind gets in, and they’re so naturally insulating that even when coated in snow my hands stay warm.

Not very dexterous but grippy and

supremely snug.

VERDICT

Unfailingly warm and water-resistant, robust enough to last decades and will biodegrade when done – these are classics for very good reasons. USED BY Sarah Ryan, Trail contributor
