PATAGONIA NINE TRAILS 28L £130

Comfortable, lightweight and excellently designed, with the best padding I’ve ever come across on shoulder straps, this is a pack I really struggle to pick fault with. I love the big U-shaped zip that runs around the lid and almost the whole front of the pack, allowing you open up the whole thing for easy access to your kit. It’s made from durable ripstop nylon, has a water-repellent finish, plus (and I always love this) two hipbelt pockets for stashing snacks. The only thing I would change is to add a little more airflow on the back panel.
