“A perfect adventure today, in Tiberthwaite near Coniston. This is one of our favourite areas, not just for climbing the fells, but it is full of history and with so much explore. We visited Cathedral Cavern, then explored the tunnels before heading over to Slater Bridge and through the quarry ruins to Greenburn Beck/Reservoir, where there are even more ruins.
We then headed over Tiberthwaite Fells, Tiberthwaite Gill, and more ruins along Coniston Moor. It was so cold we even had snow, but a great day. 10 miles with 570m ascent, and after adding this week’s totals up we have reached our 2nd Everest Anywhere, with over 19,000m climbed!”
