Start Nantgwynant car park, grid ref SH628507 Terrain Rough pasture and heather slopes

Follow Route 2 along the lanes, but instead of turning off at SH637495 continue for 500m to the converted chapel of Blaen Nant. Take the path opposite, heading east to cross a stream to the right of Llwynyrhwch farm. A well-defined path then climbs east, passing to the north of Llyn Llagi. A cairned path now climbs to the left of the cliffs surrounding the lake, before turning sharp right for Llyn yr Adar. From the east shores of the lake, head south to a large cairn, then turn right along the ridge to Cnicht (joining Route 6).
